As James Pugh put it during Reverse The Verse: v1.1 is "coming in hot". Difficulties getting it working can be attributed to a lot of changes under the covers: 64 bit floats for map addressing, new damage systems, REC, new weapon mount system and new skeleton for animations. Could even say it's coming in heavy at 30+ GB as well.

Many citizens and civilians are chomping at the bit to get a taste of this release, with flyable Gladius and Hangar ready Retaliator, but most will have to wait.

PTU has been unstable to unusable for folks, even launching and patching not working yet. Announcement of it's existance has been pulled from the header of the main site.

Patience is advised.

(Citizen Star News) - 2014-09-12 - After a long wait, and a slipped partial release last night. Arena Commander v0.9 and Star Citizen Patch 13 is now officially available.

Members of the GeekDomo "Bearded Warriors and Amazon Princesses" Twitch "Tribe", notably Bod699 and WTFOSAURUS managed to snag a leaked partial release and broadcast previews over the last 12 hours or so, but now we can all have the real thing.

(Citizen Star News) - 2014-09-02 - Ben Lesnick dropped into one of the usual delay driven forum meltdowns with an interesting post about the development, patch, release process:

If you're interested, there's a fair bit of process that goes into this kind of decision and resulting post. (Or, if you're wondering why you get one Comm-Link later in the day rather than up to the minute updates on patches.)

Getting a release patch is sort of like mining spice; the team will work until the last possible minute to make it happen. On a Friday, we might have a release candidate build as late as early afternoon. That build goes to QA for a round of testing. Did it fix the blockers and the critical issues we identified with the previous candidate? Did it introduce any others?

(Citizen Star News) - 2014-07-31 - Star Citizen Hangar/Arena Commander Patch 12.5 was released in the wee hours of this morning. Thanks and congrats to the engineers and dedicated folk at Cloud Imperium Games who worked hard to get this out. This has been pending for several weeks now as the pro bug smashers hunted down the issues that were occurring in multiplayer that caused a "rubber-banding" effect of your targets suddenly snapping into a different place as the server/client communication got confused or lagged. Significant re-work of the physics engine are reported to have been done.
